FAQ:  “So what does New Dawn Pet Rescue do, exactly?”

Lacey has created New Dawn Pet Rescue to save the lives of dogs who are scheduled to be euthanized in Los Angeles’ miserable and overcrowded city animal shelters.  Dogs who have severe injuries in the pound do not get treated because there is no certainty that the dog will get adopted, which, in the city workers’ eyes, would waste the money they spent on treating the dog’s injury if they later have to “put it to sleep” because no one adopted it.  Therefore, many dogs are left to suffer and languish for weeks with injuries that are sometimes as severe as broken bones.  Most likely these dogs will be “put to sleep”, or killed, because most people don’t want to adopt an animal that has an injury that will give them an expensive vet bill right off the bat.  Lacey rescues these dogs from the pound, gets them the surgery they need, allows the dogs to recuperate comfortably in her home (usually on her couch!) - and NOT in a kennel or a shelter - and then she finds the dogs new homes once they’ve healed from their injuries.  She also rescues dogs that are healthy too, but are “out of time” at the pound because no one has adopted them, and so they are scheduled to be euthanized.

FAQ: “Does Lacey rescue other animals besides dogs?”

Yes…she has rescued bunnies, and even a baby hummingbird!  Lacey loves cats too, and has rescued cats in the past.  But because she has a house full of dogs, she does not feel she has a comfortable environment for a cat, at this time.  She hopes to be able to rescue more cats too, down the road.

FAQ: “On ‘Rock of Love’, Lacey’s Dad implied that both he and Lacey have money.  Why is she asking for donations if she has money?  Why doesn’t she pay for all of this stuff herself?”

First of all, Lacey HAS poured a lot of her own money into rescuing these animals.  Lacey’s Dad, too, even though he is not the animal-rights activist that she is, supports his daughter and has given her a substantial amount of money to help these animals.  Yes, Lacey is financially comfortable, but she does not have a tree that grows money in her back yard.  The vet bills for these animals is astronomical, and if everyone can donate a few bucks to help, then the more animals that can be saved, and medically treated.  Furthermore, there are plenty of celebrities and “rich people” who have their own charities and organizations, and those people still ask for donations as well.  Running a rescue organization is a team effort, and Lacey wants you to be on her team to help save as many animals as possible.

FAQ:  “What have the donations that Lacey has received so far, paid for?”

Besides the endless supplies of dog food, treats, antibiotics, creams, collars, leashes, food dishes, beds, and crates, that are needed to run a rescue group, the vet bills are what REALLY add up.  CLICK HERE  to see some examples of what your donations have paid for so far, and stories of the dogs that have been saved because of YOU!
